We accept GEN and SLASH stories, novels & novellas and welcome a wide range of story
types including (but not limited to): Case Story, Angst, H/C,
Death, Humor, Drama, etc... At this time, we are mainly
accepting stories in 'The Sentinel'
fandom. But if you have a novel/novella in any other fandom,
please email DE Press with the details. Please only send submission
ready stories.Authors DO NOT have a say in layout, formatting, font, art, styles, and book
design.We DO NOT accept
real person stories.
1) To qualify
for a trib copy: Story/stories:
Must be a minimum of five printed pages (using the following
format). If the story is co-authored (more than one author),
then the story must be five pages for EACH author. These page counts we derive
from the following format:
12 pt. type, 1" margins, block paragraphs with one blank
line between paragraphs. Font choice is ours. We
will change your story to the font that we have determined we
shall use for that particular zine. Artwork: Will be determined on an individual basis.
Artist, please email DE Press with any questions
on submission formats and any other inquiries. All
submissions must not have been posted to the web or any
mailing lists or groups. We will only consider accepting a
net-published fic if it has been substantially altered or
changed. If you have any questions on this, please email DE Press.
(2) thought
will be italicizied. If possible, please put the thoughts
into italics beforehand. (3) emphasis will be bolded. If possible,
please bold emphasized words beforehand. If you have an
emphasized word within thoughts, please bold the word(s).(4) Please DO NOT indent
paragraphs. Use block format. Do not center titles, use fancy
fonts, or otherwise format. (5) Ellipses there are only three or four
dots in an ellipse. Use only three (
) with a leading or
trailing space in sentences. At the end of the sentence, if using
an ellipse, please use an ellipse followed by a period (
.). (6) All speech must use the double quotation
marks " not the singular '. (Example: "Hey Jim,"
Blair said.) (7) We will also correct typos and punctuation
and will not note these things as being changed in your edit
copy. (8) All stories will be edited but we will not
change the tone/content of a story. We will make suggestions when
and where we feel it's needed and authors are welcome to discuss
the requested changes. You will always get a copy of your file
back to look over, unless you specify otherwise, before we go to
print. (9) We prefer stories to be sent in
MS Word, but can accept plain text and .rtf also. Stories should NOT be sent in htm or html. Send all submissions to DE Press.
When
Sending Your Story
(1) Please
include a brief summary of your story. (2) You must
state that you have read and understood these guidelines. (3) We will
need to know how you wish to be credited and whether to include
your email in the zine. (4) Please
state which zine you're submitting to as well as a good email
address for us to stay in touch with you. (5) Please DO
NOT submit a story that's been submitted to another
publisher until it is clear between you and the other publisher
that it is available to be tribbed elsewhere. (6) Upon
acceptance of your submission, we need your snail mail address in
order to send you your trib copy. (7) When it
comes time to edit the zine that you tribbed for, and we can not
reach you via email, we will unfortunately have to pull the story
or artwork. We will not publish a story if we cannot get approval
from you. PLEASE keep us updated of your email
address as well as your snail mail address. (8) After
tribbing to us, stories and artwork MAY NOT be
posted to the net or published in another form, etc. for a period
of ONE year. |
